The first significant storm of the season hit Northern Califonia this week, and the KCRA 3 weather team says the wet weather is continuing Tuesday and will linger into Wednesday. Tuesday has also been designated as a KCRA 3 Impact Day due to possible travel issues in the Sierra.Rain TimelineMeteorologist Tamara Berg says the system is pivoting over California and is continuing to churn over the area, keeping the heavy and steady rainfall coming our way. The roads will be soggy through much of Northern California around 8 a.m., with some likely ponding and puddles. Beyond noontime, the rain will slowly taper down and the area will see mostly showers.By 10 p.m., the Foothills may still be seeing some showers, and some light snow will still be falling in parts of the SierraSnow TimelineSnow levels will be rising throughout the morning Tuesday until about noon, with snow levels at around 4,800 feet, before dropping off as some cold air moves in behind, according to meteorologist Dirk Verdoorn. Into Wednesday morning, snow levels are expected to be at their lowest around sunrise at 3,400 feet.
