Lakers’ LeBron James to sit out vs. Jazz with foot soreness

LeBron James will not play against the Utah Jazz on Monday because of left foot soreness, the Los Angeles Lakers announced.

It is the second leg of a back-to-back. In addition to the foot soreness, James is overcoming an illness that affected him last week.

James scored 27 points on 13-of-23 shooting in the Lakers’ 114-100 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday.

The Lakers (2-7) also announced that guards Patrick Beverleywho missed the Sunday game, and Lonnie Walker will be out Monday because of non-COVID-19 illness.

Anthony Daviswho had 19 points and 12 rebounds in the loss to the Cavaliers, is listed as probable with low-back tightness.
